Your homeschooler is invited to join us as we explore various topics related to the natural spaces of Jug Bay. We delve into nature concepts, spend time outdoors, and have fun learning. Our spring theme is Healthy Habitats and April’s class focuses on Healthy Streams. Ages 6 to 9.

Join us for a sweet morning of story time and crafting all about bees! Perfect for curious kids who love stories, hands-on fun, and nature ages pre-K through 5th grade.

If you love birds and nature or just want to learn more about wildlife, come out to the town of North Beach, Maryland.  See live raptors up close, attend lectures with wildlife experts from all over Maryland, participate in birdwatching, and enjoy nature in this idyllic venue. It will be an event for the entire family and people of all ages. Live entertainment and great local food!

Guests are invited to join Historic London Town and Gardens to celebrate the site’s 200-year old tree. The event features garden- and tree-themed crafts, games, scavenger hunts, birthday cake, and the chance to meet local environmental organizations sharing ways to protect and preserve the community’s natural environment.

Families are invited to enjoy a magical day of nature play while traveling through the realms of Annmarie Garden, discovering an enchanting variety of activities along the way. Guests can search for hidden gnome homes, create crafts, and explore the garden’s natural spaces. This immersive, imagination-filled event offers an over-the-top day of creative fun for families.

From 10 am–1 pm, club members will gather to make flower crowns, learn May pole dances, decorate a crankie, and prepare for the May Day Ceili. From 1 pm–2 pm, the third annual May Day Ceili will open to friends, family, and the community for free. Club members will run the show, demonstrating their dances and wearing their flower crowns. Live music and snacks will be provided for everyone to enjoy.

Take home a little warmth and light from the past! Learn about 18th century lighting options available to the residents of London Town while making your own beeswax candles. For participants ages 16+. Please wear casual clothes; aprons will not be provided but are welcome. Cost: London Town Members, $22. Non-Members, $25.

KidStock 2026: Earth Week Community Concert at the Waldorf School of Baltimore is a family‑friendly morning of live music, eco‑activities, and nature fun. Featuring a bilingual performance by Latin Grammy winner Mister G, it celebrates Earth Week with songs, crafts, and outdoor exploration for all ages.

What mammals inhabit our fascinating marshes at Jug Bay? Find out, and perhaps see some in person on a late afternoon hike through the woods and along the edge of the marsh. Join Chuck Hatcher, Jug Bay’s resident expert on otters, for a 1-3 mile walk. Look and listen for signs of activity while Chuck shares interesting facts about these magnificent marsh mammals. All ages able to walk 1-3 miles. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Fee $5 per person. Registration required.

The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, held at the Howard County Fairgrounds, is a beloved celebration of natural fibers where visitors can experience the full journey of wool—from sheep to yarn—through shearing, spinning, and handcrafts.

In this hands-on program, kids explore replica nests, examine burrows and dens, compare building materials, and unravel the clues left behind by nature’s most clever construction crews. After cracking the case of “Who Built This Home?” we’ll take a short walk to discover real wildlife shelters hidden throughout Jug Bay. 

Learn how to successfully grow sweet potatoes from slips, understand their nutritional benefits, discover how many potatoes each plant can produce, find the best time and place to plant for optimal results, and get tips for achieving a healthy, abundant harvest.

Head to Annemarie Gardens for a day of buggy fun and explore the world of insects. Featured activities: live insect zoo, butterfly tent, insect museum, garden hunts, buggy crafts, carnival games, costume contest, market vendors, and more!

Walk the sweet potato mounds, talk about how Honey's Harvest grows sweet potatoes in living soil, and then dig up some of the tubers. Everyone will get to take some sweet potatoes home after the harvest!
